About The Position

The Student Worker R D Chemistry role at Viatris is designed for individuals currently enrolled in a science-based degree program, particularly in Chemistry or Biochemistry. Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a science-based degree program (Chemistry or Biochemistry preferred).
• Completed a minimum of their sophomore year.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred, but a combination of experience and/or education will be considered.
• Basic knowledge of math and chemistry.
• Ability to understand and adhere to government regulations and company policies.
• Experience working with complex laboratory equipment, chemicals, and fragile glassware.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks successfully.
• Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret general business documents.
• Ability to perform computations such as percentages, ratios, and rates.
• Ability to interpret graphs and data sets.
• Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support initiatives within the Research and Development Chemistry laboratory.
• Operate laboratory equipment including analytical balance, pH meter, dissolution apparatus, UV spectrophotometer, and chromatographic systems (e.g., HPLC, GC) under the direction of a supervisor.
• Prepare solutions (i.e., buffers, mobile phases, diluents) and samples as per procedures.
• Calculate raw data by calculator or computer.
• Assist in the calibration and record keeping of laboratory equipment.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory.
• Assist the stability management team as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
