About The Position

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves? Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company's vision of a fully electric transportation future. EVDD is customer-obsessed, entrepreneurial, and data-driven and is dedicated to delivering industry-leading customer experience for electric vehicle buyers and owners. You'll join an agile team of doers pioneering our EV future by working collaboratively, staying focused on only what matters, and delivering excellence day in and day out. Join us to make positive change by helping build a better world where every person is free to move and pursue their dreams. At Ford, we believe the best way to learn is by doing. We are looking for a passionate and driven Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the entire technology stack behind our innovative products. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and see your code come to life. You'll be writing, testing, and deploying code that matters. You will work directly on our core products, collaborating with senior engineers across the full spectrum of our technology - from microcontrollers in our embedded devices to the Android application in our main vehicle console, all the way to the cloud services. If you are a curious, adaptable, and ambitious problem-solver who wants to build real-world skills, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Dive into our codebase and contribute directly to features and improvements for our core products. Your work will ship!
  • Gain invaluable experience across our entire technology ecosystem:
  • Develop and debug firmware in C/C++ on real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Work on our Android application (Java/Kotlin) that controls and interacts with our hardware.
  • Help build and maintain the backend APIs, databases, and infrastructure that connect everything together (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Work alongside experienced engineers in a dynamic environment to design, implement, and test new features.
  • Quickly get up to speed with new programming languages, tools, and environments as you move between different parts of the stack.
