About The Position

Responsibilities: Assist midshipmen candidates in understanding and completing assignments and coursework in College Algebra and Trigonometry (fall semester) and Precalculus (spring semester) Monitor and support midshipmen candidate progress in Khan Academy courses, ensuring successful completion of modules at 90 percent or better Oversee mandatory NPP study hall sessions, ensuring that students use the time productively and providing academic support as needed Requirements: Must meet Navy height and weight standards Must be in good standing with the Hampton Roads NROTC Unit Must have earned a grade of B or better in Calculus I and II at Regent University Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 Demonstrated experience in successfully aiding midshipmen or other students in understanding and excelling in calculus or other advanced mathematics courses Strong mathematical and analytical skills Excellent communication and instructional skills, with the ability to convey complex mathematical concepts in an understandable manner Proactive and supportive approach to student learning and success Strong organizational skills to effectively manage academic support sessions, study hall oversight, and track student progress Ability to work collaboratively with other university staff and operate independently when required Commitment to Regent’s core values of Excellence, Innovation, and Integrity Regent University does not discriminate in employment in its programs or activities on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, disability, age or veteran status. Requirements
