About The Position

Great Basin College is seeking a student worker to assist with various tasks related to the Electrical & Instrumentation program. The position requires the candidate to be a student of Great Basin College, enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for the semester, and maintaining a 2.0 GPA. The student must qualify for Work Study or RSP through Student Financial Services. Responsibilities include receiving and inventorying new equipment, setting up supplies for lab projects, ensuring safety of tools, and organizing storage for the Winnemucca Industrial Maintenance program.

Requirements

• Must be a student of Great Basin College.
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for the semester and maintain a 2.0 GPA.
• Must qualify for Work Study or RSP through Student Financial Services.
• Be familiar with Electrical & Instrumentation tools and materials knowledge.
• Be familiar with welding equipment and tools.
• Practice workplace and electrical safety.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inventory new equipment and supplies delivered through the GOED grant.
• Set up equipment and supplies to assist with lab projects in classes and for next semester.
• Make sure all tools and equipment are safe to use.
• Make stands and supports for equipment and tools.
• Label and inventory all new tools and equipment that has been purchased to use in the Winnemucca Industrial Maintenance program.
• Organize tool storage and storage bins for tools and equipment for the Winnemucca Industrial Maintenance program.
• Build shelves and storage racks for inside the Conex.
• Maintain and organize flammable cabinets and SDS sheets for products used in the Winnemucca Industrial Maintenance program.

Benefits

• $13.00 per hour
• Up to 19 hours per week with a monthly maximum of 79.5 hours.
