About The Position

High School to Paraprofessional students who are accepted into the Teacher Pathway Program (TPP) will apply to this position. Alongside after school lead teachers, the student worker will help support young children enrolled in the after school program at the ELC. The student worker will be responsible for supporting students in engaging activities and lessons in the afterschool program under the guidance of afterschool lead teachers.

Requirements

  • Some experience in the following areas: Enjoys working with children
  • Outstanding problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and creativity
  • Friendly and approachable attitude
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and to be effective and take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic, ambitious environment.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required

Responsibilities

  • Help to provide a positive, safe, fun, and memorable quality experience to children and families involved in the ELC's after school program
  • Assist with supervision of young children enrolled in the program
  • Encourage children to participate in all activities and realize their full potential
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor to children enrolled
  • Strive to achieve ELC after school program goals and operate with the character values and mission in mind
  • All other duties as assigned
