Job Description The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada. ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university, local, state, national, and international levels.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
  • Maintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 7 credits
  • Uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct
  • Meet all deadlines set forth
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Work scheduled hours
  • Properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time
  • Behave in a manner that is ethical, maintaining a high level of integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in ASUN as an officer or intern
  • Previous management, mentorship, or leadership experience with peers
  • Flexibility and adaptability within role; ability to time manage and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to positively represent the Executive Branch internally and externally
  • Motivation to further the goals and initiatives of ASUN: Collaborating with the Center for Student Engagement and other campus departments to increase students’ access to resources to further their success
  • Working to coordinate student advisory boards such as those relating to professional development, affordable housing, and power-based violence.
  • Clearly communicating the mission and requirements of the ASUN Internship Program through recruitment, marketing, and event programming
  • Meeting consistently with student groups on campus to formulate initiatives and avenues of support
  • Willingness to serve as support for the President’s Cabinet, coordinating resources and initiatives to promote the mission and success of ASUN
  • Excellent organization and project management skills in a team-based environment with multiple projects

Responsibilities

  • To assist the President at their discretion.
  • To serve as an advisor to the ASUN President regarding all executive matters.
  • Act as a representative of the President of ASUN when necessary.
  • Alongside the Director of Executive Outreach, organize and execute introductory meetings with officers and departments, as well as exit interviews to ensure the goals of the Association are met
  • Oversee the logistics of the ASUN internship process to coordinate marketing to the student body. The Director of Executive Affairs shall review internship candidates for eligibility with the assistants of the Administrative Faculty of the Center for Student Engagement and distribute them among departments for further review.
  • Plan, organize, and execute the curriculum of the Executive Internship Program at their discretion.
  • To have a report read or spoken into the record at minimum every other Senate Meeting.
  • Perform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents
  • Assist in the promotion of the mission of ASUN and Nevada
  • Other duties as called upon by my position
