About The Position

The Student Wellness & Belonging Coordinator supports SMPH students by helping them identify the right next step when they feel overwhelmed or unsure where to begin, providing warm handoffs and follow-up, implementing student wellness programming, and supporting defined belonging and community-building initiatives across Student Services and the Office of Multicultural Affairs for Health Professions Learners. The position helps improve the student experience by promoting clarity, connection, and access to support across wellness, student support, and belonging resources. This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Monday through Friday 8:00a.m.- 4:30p.m. Terminal, 24 month appointment This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding. Must provide a valid driver's license. Employees may use their own transportation or receive approval for University Car Fleet usage. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience supporting students or coordinating student-facing programs in higher education, student affairs, health professions education, or a related setting
  • Demonstrated experience independently coordinating logistics, communications, and implementation of educational or student support programs
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with students and support them in navigating resources and services
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgement, and follow through effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborative effectively across units and with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; focus in higher education/student affairs, counseling, social work, psychology, education, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Generates and analyzes reports of curricular and unit outcomes
  • Serves as a subject matter expert regarding student affairs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Organizes student-focused programming and resources to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives
  • Creates and maintains schedules, logistics, and resources for one or multiple student affairs programs, activities, and/or services
  • Supports coordination, implementation, and visibility of student wellness programming and specified student-facing belonging and community-building initiatives jointly identified by Student Services and OMA-HPL, including outreach at key student transition points and selected cross-program support as appropriate
  • Contributes to student-facing resource communication and theme tracking to improve access, coordination, and continuous improvement across Student Services and OMA-HPL, while maintaining awareness of support needs across SMPH programs in partnership with the Student Services Manager
  • Provides student check-ins, warm handoffs, and follow-up to connect SMPH students to appropriate wellness, academic, belonging, and support resources across Student Services, OMA-HPL, and partner units
  • Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
