About The Position

Student Video Editors are assigned projects and tasks to assist the Video Production Editor who has the responsibility for post-production and asset management of college generated productions. We are seeking a creative student employee to join our team as a video editor. As a video editor, you will play a role in producing high-quality video content for the college. This is an opportunity for a motivated student with a passion for video production to gain practical experience, and to contribute to exciting projects for Berklee College of Music. Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.
  • Experience in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or other video editing software.
  • Strong understanding of video editing techniques, including effects, color grading and transitions.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of audio editing and sound design principles.
  • Demonstrates the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and assemble raw footage into a polished video content.
  • Incorporate music and graphics into videos as needed.
  • Implement visual effects and sound editing.
  • Maintain quality and continuity of multiple projects while working against set deadlines.
  • Assist with transferring of digital events and data entry.
  • Assist with managing and organizing of video files.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques.
  • Video production projects may be assigned as directed.
