The Student Transition Programs Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Division of Student Affairs by providing comprehensive logistical and administrative support for key events, including New Student Orientation, Commencement, and divisional award processes. Under the direction of the Director of New Student Programs, the Coordinator will work collaboratively with campus partners, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the successful execution of these important institutional programs.

  • Plans, manages, and implements events and programs for Commencement and New Student Orientation.
  • Coordinates logistics, secures venues, and oversees event setup and breakdown.
  • Manages event budgets and tracks expenses.
  • Collaborates with campus partners, key stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Develops and executes communication strategies for incoming students and campus colleagues.
  • Manages website content, creates marketing materials, and leverages social media platforms.
  • Disseminates information through multiple communication channels.
  • Manages correspondence and scheduling.
  • Maintains records and files.
  • Provides general office support and assists with other administrative tasks as needed.
  • High School or equivalency.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience in event planning, program coordination, or a related field, with demonstrated growth in autonomy and responsibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing events, including planning, logistics, and on-site execution.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software or technology.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and effectiveness in serving a diverse community, with a strong commitment to inclusivity, equity, and accessibility.

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., event management, hospitality, communications).
  • Experience with student activities, event planning, and management in a higher education setting.
  • Experience coordinating large-scale events.
  • Familiarity with website content development and proficiency with communication, social media, and/or graphic design tools.
