This role provides an exciting opportunity to support students pursuing their bachelor’s or master’s degrees in education, including programs in early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, TESOL, and special education.

Requirements

  • Location Requirement: Must reside in or be within driving distance of West Chester, PA.
  • MUST have all three clearances in order to be hired. • Dept. of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance. • PA State Police Request for Criminal Records Check. • Federal Criminal History Record Information (CHRI).
  • Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in Education.
  • A valid Educational Administration State Certificate or Licensure.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Educational Administrator.
  • A commitment to supporting GCU’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.

Responsibilities

  • Site Observation Visits: There will be a total of 4, in-person site visits with each student teacher candidate during their semester. The number of available student teacher candidates can vary by semester.
  • Professional Development: Offer valuable feedback on the Teacher Candidate’s professional development and implementation of future educational plans.
  • Foster Creativity and Responsibility: Encourage Teacher Candidates to take initiative, exercise creativity, and maintain a high level of responsibility throughout their student teaching experience.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of Teacher Candidates' progress and performance.
  • Evaluation Support: Provide insight into evaluation procedures and assist Teacher Candidates in understanding and navigating assessments.
  • Build Relationships: Maintain a professional yet friendly rapport with both Teacher Candidates and Cooperating Teachers to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
