This posting serves as a student teaching/intern request for college/university students that have been referred by their placement officer. Student teaching is considered to be the single most important experience in a teacher preparation program. By working together, we hope to nurture the professional growth of candidates, support the continued professional development of cooperating teachers and mentors, and provide for quality learning experiences for the children in our schools. Student Teacher/Internship Request Process Universities 1. College or university submits a placment request via email to Human Resources at [email protected]. 2. If not alreay in place, a memorandum of agreement is established. 3. Request should include dates, number of hours, and grade or subject. Students Prior to the start of a placement, the following items will be required. Complete the online student teacher/intern placement request - Student Teacher / Intern Request Issuance of Pre-Residency Clearance from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) - Log in or create an account with OSPI at this link: https://www.k12.wa.us/certification/e-certification-washington-state-educators Fingerprinting/Background Check – Fingerprints results are required to be on file with OSPI. (link to information - https://www.esd113.org/fingerprinting ) Copy of proof of professional liability insurance. The copy can be sent via email. A copy of the certificate or an email forward of the purchase can be provided via email. This can be purchased through many agencies including the NEA (usually less than $40). Complete VectorSolutions course work regarding Family Educational Rights and Privacy (FERPA) and district policies.
