About The Position

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:  Under direct supervision, answer phone calls for the Student Services Office during peak periods. The position also involves working with confidential information. The work schedule will have variable hours between 8 am - 5 pm, Monday-Friday. We will work around class schedule, but preference given to those with mid-day availability.  UNIVERSAL CORE COMPETENCIES:  Advocate for Continual Improvement- empowering each other to identify opportunities for excellence. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

Requirements

  • Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and energetic with the ability to meet and deal effectively with students, parents, college personnel and the community we serve.
  • Work efficiently and effectively in an environment that at times can be stressful and have frequent interruptions.
  • High level skills in the application of collaborative, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills-oral and written.
  • Possess strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Requires strong organizational skills, good communication skills and attention to detail.

  • High School Diploma.
  • Must be a Kirkwood student.
  • Must type 50 WPM.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to those with call center experience.

Responsibilities

  • Answer questions via the phone regarding financial aid, admissions, registration and billing
  • Perform limited duties to assist students with financial aid and registration.
  • Receive and process Financial Aid and Enrollment documentation.
  • Performs other related work duties as assigned.
