The Student Support Specialist Sr. at the University of Missouri - St. Louis plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience of students by providing various support activities. In this role, the specialist will be responsible for a range of technical and clerical services that support student services. This includes reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, and processing student data to assist in determining students' academic credit, admissibility, and eligibility for degrees, scholarships, and specialized designations. The specialist will also engage in research and analysis of atypical or complex data, preparing reports that highlight key issues and patterns, such as budget tracking and expenses. The ability to solve problems and identify innovative solutions is essential, as is the capacity to impact the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of the team through effective planning, organization, and coordination. Confidentiality and discretion are paramount in this role, as the specialist will handle sensitive information. The position also involves recommending modifications to work practices and processes to improve efficiency and achieve desired results. Regular interaction with both internal and external parties is expected, requiring the ability to explain detailed information and answer questions effectively. The specialist will also provide everyday support for all Student Services staff and student requests for documentation, as well as plan key events for students and the College, such as orientations, open houses, and career expos.
