The Tampa Bay Bridge to the Baccalaureate Program (TB-B2B) provides resources and support to our STEM students as they work to achieve their 4-year STEM degree. The program is grant funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) as part of the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP). TB-B2B is a consortium including St. Petersburg College, Hillsborough Community College, and the State College of Florida. This position will work with the other institutions to promote STEM transfer opportunities for students. The Student Support Specialist for TB-B2B coordinates programming for SPC students. This includes providing resources and support to STEM students at SPC, planning and executing STEM focused events and activities for students including college tours, summer bridge programming, research experiences, etc. The role also involves travel for field trips, conferences, meetings and other events with and/or for SPC B2B faculty and students, as well as various administrative duties such as grant reporting, recording keeping, faculty deliverable payment processing, student stipend payment processing, and other activities. The specialist will recruit eligible students to the program and work with institutional research and grants teams for data collection and reporting, promoting transfer to STEM baccalaureate programs at SPC and Alliance institutions, USF through FUSE and non-FUSE articulations, and other four-year institutions through developed articulation agreements.
