About The Position

Special Services Provider Intern District Guidelines I. Before accepting a special services provider intern placement the following needs to occur: _____ a. There needs to be an official request for placement made on the requesting institution's letter head. _____ b. The special services provider intern needs to be interviewed by a Special Programs Administrator and the special services provider who is willing to host the individual. _____ c. The Special Programs Administrator must recommend the cooperating special services provider. _____ d. The cooperating special services provider must be licensed by the State in the content/ academic area of the special services provider intern and must have at least three years of school special services provider experience. _____ e. Cooperating special services providers can sponsor special services provider intern placements every other year. At a minimum there must be a year before accepting another special services provider intern. _____ f. The special services provider intern request needs to be reviewed and approved by the Human Resources Department prior to responding to the intern or institution. We will attempt to have no more than 10% of a staff hosting special services provider intern during any semester. _____g. The paper work for the special services provider intern placement will be completed by the Special Programs Administrator and returned to the Institution requesting the placement. Copies for the paper work will be sent to Human Resources. II. The special services provider intern experience: In general, the special services provider intern experience is full time with the intern gradually assuming responsibility for class and being fully in charge for a maximum of 2 to 3 weeks.
