About The Position

The Student Success Coordinator at the University of Washington is responsible for supporting the Brotherhood Initiative (BI), which aims to empower men of color undergraduates to thrive academically and personally. This role involves providing direct support to BI students, implementing programmatic and academic components, and collaborating with various campus offices to enhance student success. The coordinator will also engage in recruitment, event planning, and instructional support to foster a supportive learning community.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in education or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in education and/or program administration.
• Demonstrated awareness of issues faced by underrepresented populations.
• Direct experience working with students in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

• Master's Degree in education or a related field.
• Familiarity with educational equity issues and college persistence.
• Prior experience in advising and programming for diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and advocacy for BI students, focusing on first-year students.
• Collaborate with EOP advisors to ensure first-year students are academically on track.
• Track academic progress of first-year students and provide referrals to campus resources.
• Design and implement academic and co-curricular programs aligned with BI goals.
• Manage event planning for professional development and community-building workshops.
• Assist with the recruitment and selection process for prospective BI participants.
• Support the BI instructional team in implementing the first-year seminar.
• Coordinate and support BI peer mentors.
