Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Student Success Coordinator for Scholarship Initiatives. This role is pivotal in coordinating and overseeing various aspects related to student success scholarships, including key programs such as the Geiman Scholars Program, the Reisher Scholars Program, and the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative. The coordinator will work closely with the Director of Student Retention and Completion and the Student Success Coordinator for Transition Initiatives, ensuring that scholarships are awarded correctly and that scholars fully understand their financial aid packages. This position requires a strong presence on campus, as it involves direct interaction with students and staff. The Student Success Coordinator will be responsible for marketing, recruitment, and selection of scholars for the various programs. This includes collecting and analyzing data to evaluate scholar progress and identifying areas for improvement in each program. The coordinator will also assist with budget planning, monitor expenses, and ensure compliance with financial guidelines. A significant aspect of this role is to research and implement DEIJ+ best practices, aligning scholarship initiatives with the Division of Student Affairs curricular model to support student learning and development. Additionally, the coordinator will oversee the hiring, training, and supervision of up to 8 Geiman Mentors, who provide pre-collegiate mentoring to high school students, thereby fostering a supportive environment for future scholars.
