About The Position

The Student Success Coach at Bossier Community College is responsible for providing personalized coaching to students to enhance their retention and academic success. This role involves collaborating with various academic departments and enrollment management to ensure positive academic outcomes for students. The coach will maintain knowledge of college policies and procedures to assist students effectively in their academic journey.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in higher education.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's license.

• Experience in student advising or coaching in a higher education setting.
• Familiarity with financial aid processes and academic standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive, personalized coaching for assigned caseload to achieve successful academic outcomes.
• Create and track collaborative support for at-risk students to increase their retention and academic success.
• Utilize various communication methods (calls, emails, texts, video calls, in-person meetings) to encourage students and direct them to appropriate resources.
• Assist with special retention campaigns or promotions related to student enrollment.
• Ensure that students receive accurate and timely advising services.
• Work with the Learning Commons to refer students for tutoring when applicable.
• Maintain knowledge of academic standards, program enrollment information, admissions policies, and financial aid processes.
• Collaborate with academic Deans to ensure curriculum sheets and academic materials are current.
• Provide and interpret information on articulation agreements for students intending to transfer to another institution.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance retention initiatives.
• Work with the Financial Aid office on Academic Plans for students not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
• Participate in evening and weekend advising.
