About The Position

The Student Employment program at Berklee College of Music offers students the opportunity to work part-time on campus, helping to meet living expenses while gaining professional and educational experience. Students can serve as Student Assistant Stage Managers for main stage productions, which include plays, musicals, dance, and opera performances. Responsibilities include assisting in rehearsals, technical and dress rehearsals, and performances, as well as supervising student cast and crew members, organizing paperwork, and training the student crew during tech and performance.

Requirements

• Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
• Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
• Must have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
• Must remain in 'valid' Visa status as applicable.
• Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
• Students in their first semester can work without an official GPA.
• Federal Work Study students may apply.
• Must be in good disciplinary standing.
• Must be located in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising student cast and crew members during rehearsals.
• Set up for and clean up after each rehearsal.
• Organize paperwork including props/scenery tracking, entrances/exits, and quick change information.
• Run a rehearsal room if multiple rehearsals are happening simultaneously.
• Train the student crew during tech and performance.
• Create and distribute props tracking/backstage run sheets.
• Assist with strike after the final performance.
• Help the Stage Management team problem-solve as necessary.
• Perform other duties as needed or required by the production.
