About The Position

The Student Staff position in South Central PA with Young Life focuses on various ministry functions including spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and ministry support. The role requires active participation in the spiritual life of the Young Life community, leading teams and individuals in spiritual development, and maintaining relationships within a church community. Additionally, the position involves recruiting and training new leaders, raising financial support, and engaging in direct ministry activities such as contact work and club leadership. The staff member will also assist with administrative tasks and adhere to Young Life policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Pursuing a college degree.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and a sincere commitment to understanding God's Word.
  • Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines in the context of active participation in a church community.
  • Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
  • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
  • Meet with volunteer leaders and area leadership on a regular basis.
  • Recruit and train new leaders to build a leadership team that reflects the community.
  • Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping to other leaders.
  • Raise financial support as directed and maintain good donor care practices.
  • Communicate ministry updates and progress to personal donor partners.
  • Assist with camp fundraisers and attend occasional committee and adult functions as assigned.
  • Participate in leadership with a team to conduct a Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry with excellence.
  • Participate on a team to implement a summer and school-season camping strategy for a ministry.
  • Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures and maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct, and time management.
  • Assist in office administration when necessary and assigned.
  • Complete expense reports as necessary in a clear and timely fashion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and congruent with gifts, experience, and area needs.
