About The Position

The Social Media Assistant will support the Campus Communications team and the Office of External Affairs and Communications (OEAC) in content development, social media management, communications strategy, and general communications support. The responsibilities of this role will have an emphasis on video production.

Requirements

  • Enrollment at Southern New Hampshire University - On Campus.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with undergraduate degrees in Communications, Art & Design, Marketing, and Liberal Arts who are pursuing a graduate degree in a communications-related field.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and/or video editing is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn video editing skills is vital.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the creation of written, visual, and multimedia content, including written copy, social media content, photography, and video to support campus communications and drive student engagement.
  • Caption videos, design flyers and posters, and support video production needs.
  • Assist with the management of the SNHU On Campus social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Participate in social media planning meetings to brainstorm content and engagement and track the progress of projects assigned to our student employees.
  • Help monitor social media trends and engagement opportunities.
  • Utilize Wrike to develop detailed project plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Manage the SNHU TV channel by curating, scheduling, and repurposing existing social media content.
  • Provide analytics support using Sprout Social by tagging posts according to content topics, enabling accurate performance tracking and strategic insights across social campaigns.
