About The Position
The Early College Program consists of high school students participating in Achieving a College Education (ACE) and Hoop of Learning (HOL). Both programs allow students to earn college credits while still attending high school. The Student Services Specialist will assist the Early College Program at GCC by providing direct student service delivery, as well as problem resolution, and technical assistance. This position will support the college's strategic enrollment initiatives by serving as an Early College Programs community liaison providing outreach services to high schools, community agencies, and organizations to promote the enrollment/retention of students enrolled in Early College opportunities at GCC. This position will assist with the evaluation of criteria used for program eligibility, researching program activities and recommending enhancements, and developing and implementing programming (workshops) and events to support student development and student success. As a representative of the institution, this position will work closely with internal and external constituents and utilizes a broad base of knowledge of student service functions to support Early College students in understanding and navigating the admissions and enrollment processes at GCC along with supporting college retention.
