The Student Services Coordinator (SSC) plays a vital role in coordinating student services for the Department of Nursing Science at St. Cloud State University. This position involves advising pre-Nursing, transfer, and RN-BSN students, maintaining communication with various stakeholders, and developing strategies to enhance student experiences and success. The SSC collaborates closely with faculty and other coordinators to support student recruitment and retention efforts.

  • Coordinate all student services for the Department of Nursing Science.
  • Advise up to 200 pre-Nursing students, transfer students, and RN-BSN students.
  • Facilitate the admissions process and enhance the advising experience under the direction of the Nursing Faculty Organization.
  • Maintain contact and serve as a liaison with internal and external constituents.
  • Develop effective strategies to improve the experiences and success of Nursing students.
  • Collaborate with the Student Relations coordinator to recruit and retain students.
  • Master's degree plus 2 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in student advising.
  • Ability to understand and interpret student data.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Successful experience working in an innovative team.
  • Working knowledge of student development and student life concerns.
  • Ability to advise and mentor diverse students.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven organizational skills.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Skilled in the use of Excel and design of marketing materials.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Support for cultural diversity and inclusion initiatives.
