About The Position

The Student Services Assistant at Northwood Technical College's Superior Campus is responsible for providing comprehensive support to students throughout their academic journey. This role involves customer service, administrative tasks, and collaboration with faculty and staff to enhance the student experience. The assistant will utilize various software systems to manage student information and assist with registration and assessments, ensuring a smooth process from inquiry to graduation.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or two years of post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent experience (high school diploma plus 2 years of relevant experience).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to apply technology to tasks.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on creative problem solving.
  • Time management skills with the ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Ability to obtain a driver's license and insurance coverage as per College policy.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls and provide customer service to students in-person and virtually.
  • Support student registration and make appointments for student services.
  • Administer assessments and assist students with inquiries.
  • Accurately process and enter student information related to admissions, registration, grades, and transcripts into databases.
  • Research and assist students in solving problems, following up until resolution or referral to appropriate staff.
  • Provide administrative support services to faculty and staff, including composing and distributing correspondence and reports.
  • Design and update promotional materials such as brochures and flyers.
  • Organize and maintain electronic databases and paper filing systems.
  • Assist in organizing campus events and recruitment campaigns.
  • Provide training and specialized knowledge to team members.
  • Participate in campus, regional, and collegewide teams and committees.
  • Develop and maintain a procedures manual for the position.
  • Participate in required trainings and professional development events.
