About The Position
The Student Services Advisor serves as a front-line representative for the OneStop department within the Office of the Registrar at Pepperdine University. This position is crucial in assisting students with various administrative tasks, including registration, the add/drop period, New Student Orientation, and addressing administrative concerns and questions. The advisor acts as a liaison between students and multiple university departments, including Financial Assistance, Housing & Residential Life, Convocation, Student Accounts, Public Safety, Student Employment, Student Health/Counseling, International Programs, and International Student Services. In this role, the advisor is expected to deliver exceptional support and assistance to students, faculty, and staff. This includes addressing inquiries, collaborating with various campus departments, and ensuring a high standard of customer service. The advisor will assist with student registration, advising, payments, record requests, verification services, ID cards, diploma services, and any emerging issues that may arise. It is essential for the advisor to uphold and understand FERPA regulations at all times, ensuring the confidentiality of student information. The position requires delivering high-volume email and phone support to all individuals contacting the office, ensuring that responses are timely, accurate, and conducted with professionalism. The advisor will also process paperwork such as petitions, transcript requests, student payments, and enrollment verifications, maintaining and filing all records within the internal portal once documents have been processed. The advisor must handle a diverse range of tasks that may vary throughout the day, providing flexible and responsive support to students, faculty, and staff while maintaining a high standard of service across all interactions. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, and the advisor is expected to uphold the University's mission through their work.
