The Student Services Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in providing administrative support and customer service for the Student Services Division at South Piedmont Community College. This full-time position is primarily located at the Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe, with travel expected to other campuses within Union and Anson counties. Requirements

  • Associate's degree in office administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of office-related administrative experience or related customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications).

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support and excellent customer service to internal and external customers through various communication channels.
  • Conduct research and handle information requests for the Student Services Division.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, letters, documents, and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Assist students in resolving issues that may require communication with multiple offices within the college.
  • Monitor and process requisitions and travel requests, ensuring compliance with funding rules and regulations.
  • Provide backup support to Directors/Staff within Student Services, including greeting visitors and answering the main campus line.
  • Manage case files and maintain detailed records for the Student Conduct process, ensuring accurate documentation and coordination of all cases.
  • Participate in institutional, advisory, and program/instruction committee meetings and represent the college at community events.
  • Engage in professional development to improve self and departmental effectiveness.
  • Serve as the student accident insurance contact, providing necessary information to students regarding accident insurance requirements.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all student records and compliance with FERPA.
