The primary function of this job is to aid in the day-to-day requirements of keeping Purdue's records and network up-to-date and functioning. A large portion of time will be spent on troubleshooting problems with network equipment and records. The ability to maintain accurate documentation and records for internet and telephone lines is essential. Additional responsibilities include assisting in tracking Purdue Information Connections and network infrastructure throughout campus, personal interface with customers across campus to assist with network troubleshooting, and assisting Network Engineers in both troubleshooting and trend analysis to resolve outages and prevent future issues. The role also involves deploying and installing networking gear to support the customer's networking needs, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accurate, assisting with verification site visits to ensure the quality of contractor installations, and creating, processing, and distributing MAC (Move, Add, and Change) forms.
