Requirements

• Must be enrolled in and attending an accredited Respiratory Therapy program in Oklahoma.
• Must be eligible for a provisional RCP Student license.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies consistent with student scope of practice.
• Assess, implement, evaluate and document respiratory care in accordance with HMC standards and under the direction of the department Manager.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
• Administer oxygen, various treatment modalities, and ventilator management.
• Adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practice Act.
• Demonstrate awareness and appropriateness in the care of patients at end of life.
