Assist Lake Superior Research Institute [LSRI] staff with conducting botanical surveys at multiply state owned properties throughout Wisconsin and sampling aquatic vegetation in Amnicon/Dowling Lake District. Invasive plant surveys will take place in the Coulee Experimental State Forest, Black River State Forest, Flambeau River State Forest, Governor Knowles State Forest, Willow Flowage Scenic Waters, and Brule River State Forest. Proximity of state forests to LSRI primary base of operations require that survey crew spend the work week (Monday – Friday) over night. Due to the remote nature of this work, hires may be asked to obtain University Driver Authorization and operate a motor vehicle on public roadways, however we are willing to accommodate students who do not possess an valid license. It is expected sixteen work weeks (64 nights) in total will be spent overnight. LSRI will provide students selected for this position lodging and a meal reimbursement while conducting these surveys.
