About The Position

AV has opportunities available for Student Research Assistants to support research at the Air Force Research Laboratories (AFRL) in Dayton, Ohio. The successful candidate will use a variety of scientific and/or engineering techniques to address research questions related to multiple disciplines. The candidate should demonstrate a driven interest in the STEM fields, especially through previous and planned course work. Work options include: 10 to 15 weeks, up to 40 hours/per week (school breaks, summers).

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be working toward a bachelor’s degree, preferably in their second or third year.
  • Requires current enrollment in a STEM program focused in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, biology, chemistry, materials, or related field.
  • Relevant coursework is required.
  • Related lab experience is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in synthetic biology, biomaterials, or flexible devices.
  • Knowledge in sensor development and evaluating microbiomes.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and modeling.
