This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Research Assistant positions at OSU-Cascades in Bend, Oregon for academic year 2025-2026. Anticipated start dates dependent upon instructor needs. OSU is committed to ensuring students are prepared for success after graduation through intentional skill development as student employees. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Communication, Critical Thinking, Teamwork, Leadership, Professionalism, Equity & Inclusion, Technology, Career & Self-Development.

  • Research support through book/literature reviews and synthesis and publication research.
  • Data collection and/or analysis.
  • Perform routine to complex technical tasks in support of research or administrative work.
  • Conduct laboratory, greenhouse, field plot, data collection, or simple analysis.
  • Perform other duties specific to the funding and research topic.
  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard.
  • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program.
  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term.
  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.
  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Desire to be involved in hands-on research.
  • A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
  • Hourly pay ranging from $15.05 to $21.50 depending on location and type.
  • Skill development in essential areas such as communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership.
