With direction from the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the Student Recruitment & Family Engagement Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing student recruitment and family engagement strategies to ensure the KIPP Memphis network meets or exceeds its enrollment goals. The position collaborates with school leaders, marketing teams, and community organizations to build awareness and drive interest in the KIPP Memphis schools. This role is key to managing lead generation, family engagement, and application conversion, and will drive new-to-KIPP student applications and enrollment to achieve or exceed the school’s annual application and enrollment targets.

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to meet enrollment goals for the network.
  • Work with marketing partners or internal teams to create compelling recruitment materials, including flyers, videos, and brochures.
  • Track and report on recruitment metrics such as inquiries, applications, offers, and confirmed enrollments.
  • Analyze demographic trends and adjust recruitment strategies to reach under-enrolled or underserved populations.
  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and prospective student interactions.
  • Support digital and in-person lead generation efforts, including email campaigns, social media outreach, and community partnerships.
  • Maintain relationships with feeder schools, community organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the communications and marketing department to ensure alignment between messaging and recruitment efforts.
  • Identify, build and strengthen relationships with community-based organizations and local businesses that could amplify or promote KIPP schools through their networks, events, and other communications.
  • Identify and plan for opportunities to participate in relevant community events throughout the year.
  • Engage with prospective families through various channels, including phone calls, emails, and KIPP-organized events to nurture their interest and generate student applications.
  • Play an integral part in the logistical planning and execution of community and family events in service of new student recruitment.
  • Conduct community outreach initiatives and represent the schools at local events, fairs, and other public engagements.
  • Support families through online applications, enrollment and registration processes. Ensure a positive and smooth new family experience throughout these processes, providing a warm handoff of families to school staff.
  • Articulate and champion KIPP’s value proposition, student services, and history of successful student outcomes in college, career and beyond.
  • Understand each school’s value proposition, culture and community dynamics.
  • Establish credibility with the schools’ leadership team (principal, operations manager, etc.) and effectively articulate recruitment progress and upcoming activities on a regular basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in student recruitment, preferably in K-12 education or a non-profit environment.
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding recruitment goals.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in managing customer relationship management (CRM) or other data management systems used for tracking leads and enrollment.
  • Knowledge of charter school laws and regulations related to enrollment.
  • Ability to manage multiple schools' enrollment processes and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Flexible schedule; availability to work evenings and weekends to attend and/or support events.
  • Satisfactory criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization.
  • Occasional travel to KIPP Memphis campuses may be required.
  • Master’s degree preferred (e.g., education, marketing, communications, or a related field)
