About The Position

Are you currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology program, hold a Limited Scope certification, and eager to build confidence and skill in a clinical environment? Join our Radiology team at Riverton Hospital—an established, community‑focused facility serving the southwest Salt Lake Valley. As a Student Radiology Technologist, you’ll gain hands‑on experience performing diagnostic imaging exams while working closely with experienced Radiologic Technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals. This role provides invaluable exposure to real clinical workflows, high‑quality imaging standards, and meaningful patient interactions—all while contributing to exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • Active ARRT (R) as a Limited Scope Technologist certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
  • Human anatomy knowledge
  • Image evaluation & critique
  • Imaging equipment operation
  • Contrast protocols
  • Emergency response awareness
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong teamwork & communication
  • Electronic imaging proficiency
  • Prioritizing tasks in a fast‑paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper patient identification, verify orders, and appropriately prepare patients for exams.
  • Perform exams following department protocols and evaluate images for clarity, accuracy, and diagnostic quality.
  • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Complete studies within acceptable timeframes without compromising patient care or image quality.
  • Assist and learn from experienced Radiologic Technologists
  • Provide clear patient education, ensure comfort, and address any concerns throughout the visit.
  • Follow infection control standards and safe sterile techniques at all times.
  • Operate imaging equipment and related information systems to ensure consistent, high‑quality imaging.
  • Accurately document patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
  • Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control, and equipment issue reporting.
