The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are currently seeking undergraduate intern(s) for several of our IT departments. Requirements

  • enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student at an accredited college/university (sophomore/second year or above preferred)
  • all majors are welcome to apply
  • collegiate transcripts required with submission of candidate profile (unofficial are acceptable)
  • in good academic standing (cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred)
  • must be able to work an average of 20 hours per week
  • proficient in Microsoft® Office tools and related software

Nice To Haves

  • understanding of SQL, Github, Jira, and Splunk is preferred
  • understanding of computer networks (TCP/IP protocol, load balancing, etc.), Linux/Windows server platform, virtualization, cloud computing concepts
  • understanding of front-end/back-end or full-stack development concepts
  • effective communication skills with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical audience
  • ability to interact effectively with management and colleagues to prioritize and organize work
  • willingness to continually learn new technologies, skills, and improved processes
  • reliable and service-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • carry out Functional and Integration testing and assist system users with user testing
  • deploy the Document Capture Process in production
  • perform regular maintenance on the Captiva environments, including software installation, upgrades, and patching
  • manage all Security, Logging, Audit, and Usage requirements within the Captiva environment
  • perform troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause analysis on issues that relate to the Captiva environment
  • provide support for other applications such as Documentum, CTS, CSSAPP/ASSAP, ProArchiver, etc.
  • complete low to medium complexity work orders (e.g. cables, server retirements, equipment delivery, labeling etc.)
  • install and uninstall network hardware with assistance from higher level technicians
  • participate in equipment and CDU audits
  • monitor data center footprint and capacities
  • provide support to operational infrastructure staff

Benefits

  • Starting Pay: Begins at $18 per hour and is based on the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
