Student Nursing Assistant
About The Position
Modoc Medical Center (MMC) is now accepting applications for our upcoming Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Class starting Monday, March 2, 2026. This paid, 8-week program provides the skills and experience needed to begin a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Students receive classroom instruction, hands-on clinical training, and wages while learning. Upon completion, participants are prepared to take the California CNA certification exam and start working as a CNA. What CNAs Do Assist patients and residents with daily living activities (bathing, feeding, mobility) Monitor and report health changes to licensed nursing staff Provide comfort, support, and companionship Promote safety, dignity, and quality of life in care settings What You’ll Gain in Our Program 8 weeks of classroom and hands-on clinical instruction Paid training while you learn Support and mentorship from experienced instructors Preparation for the California CNA certification exam A strong foundation for future healthcare careers (LVN, RN, and beyond) Job opportunities with MMC upon certification
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Interest in healthcare and helping others
- Ability to attend 10 hr./day classes 2 days per week
- Commitment to complete the 8-week program and state testing requirements
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, background check, and drug screen
