The team on 5900 provides chemotherapy, pain management, support of radiation interventions, infusion of blood products, administration of blood products and hydration. Infusion of fresh and frozen hematopoietic cell transplant products (peripheral blood stem cells/bone marrow). Telemetry, hemodynamic, ventilator, and dialysis support. Supportive care for hematopoietic cell transplant and leukemia patients. Patients are moderate to high acuity with a high complexity of interventions and patient care needs including clinical, spiritual, psycho-social, and family care. Role Purpose Provides multi-skilled, direct patient care, under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This job requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health.

- Must work 2 shifts in 6 weeks

Responsibilities
- Assists nurse with patient and family education.
- Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology.
- Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
- Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
- Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
- Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
- Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
