About The Position
Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital, Edwin Shaw, located in Akron, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated Student Nurse Tech to join our team. This position is a full-time role that requires current enrollment in an accredited nursing school, either an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Candidates must provide proof of completion of the first year or fundamentals of nursing, or an equivalent course. As a Student Nurse Tech, you will play a crucial role in providing advanced treatment and comprehensive care to patients facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges due to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting patients with their personal and daily care needs, which includes obtaining vital signs, assisting with bathing, oral hygiene, and other personal care tasks. You will also assist with medical procedures such as urinary catheter removal, blood sugar checks, and specimen collection. Your role will involve delivering meals, feeding patients who are unable to do so themselves, and documenting their oral intake. Additionally, you will be responsible for safely turning and positioning immobile patients, participating in mobility programs, and ensuring patient comfort by responding to call lights and other needs.
