About The Position

The Student Nurse Technician at AdventHealth is responsible for assisting with safe and effective care routines and activities of daily living (ADLs) for patients. This role includes helping patients with basic hygiene, skin care, nutritional needs, elimination needs, physical activity, and comfort measures while maintaining respect and privacy. The technician will also obtain and document vital signs, collect lab specimens, and report any abnormal findings to licensed nurses. The position requires adherence to corporate compliance and local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing Program.
• Current BLS certification through AHA.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with their activities of daily living including basic hygiene, skin care, nutritional and dietary needs, elimination needs, physical activity needs, and comfort measures.
• Obtains and documents vital signs per unit standards and reports abnormal findings to the licensed nurse.
• Collects lab specimens as directed per hospital standards.
• Accurately documents intake and output information for assigned patient areas.
• Ensures personal hygiene and comfort care is delivered to all patients.
