About The Position

The Student Nurse Intern (SNI) works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance to the patient/family care plan to collect patient information and provide direct patient care contributing significantly to the achievement of patient and family outcomes. As a member of the direct care team, the SNI is responsible and accountable for complete and accurate collection and recording of data, completion of routine and delegated direct patient care activities and communicating and collaborating with the Registered Nurse to prioritize workload. When under the direct supervision of the RN, the SNI may participate in performing direct and indirect nursing care for patients. The SNI collaborates with the RN during patient assessment to develop the nursing diagnosis(s), the patient plan of care and for the evaluation of nursing interventions.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor’s degree nursing program.
• Completion of at least two semesters in ADN program or four semesters in BSN program.
• Must have Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or Licensed Practical Nurse License awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) before current year internship.

Responsibilities
