About The Position

The position is within the Cardiac Services department at Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center, located in Carmel, IN. This is a PRN Night schedule role, specifically designed for current nursing students enrolled in an accredited nursing program. The role involves providing direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), adhering to established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Requirements

• Must be a current nursing student in an accredited nursing program.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Complete assigned nursing orders as directed by preceptor, including assisting patients with activities of daily living and taking vital signs.
• Observe patient status and responses, documenting and reporting observations to preceptor or other appropriate staff.
• Assist preceptor with the development of care plans by reporting test results and patient observations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned, including environmental services and preparing/transporting patients for diagnostic services.
