About The Position

The Student Nurse I position offers nursing students the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in patient care while considering their educational progression. The intern will work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN), who will guide their experience and maintain accountability for patient care. Responsibilities include performing basic nursing procedures appropriate for the patients' age and development, with duties expanding as the student acquires new skills and competencies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required.
• Completion of a medical surgical course (Fundamentals of Nursing) required.
• Completion of a clinical rotation of at least 40 hours required.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.

Nice To Haves

• Maintain enrollment in a Nursing Program for the duration of employment as Student Nurse I.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
• Perform basic nursing procedures appropriate for the age and/or development of patients.
• Demonstrate competency in technical nursing skills learned during the first year of a nursing program.
• Assist with normal duties of a Nursing Assistant.
• Document competencies as skills are learned.
