We are seeking Student Nurses to join our clinical teams at St Joseph Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare in Kansas City, MO. The Student Extern is an adjunct to the patient care team. The extern performs at the level that has successfully been completed and passed in the clinical section at a local college. Under the general supervision of an RN the extern provides direct patient care in accordance with the established protocols, the skills they are able to perform are expanded. All newly hired extern's will first function in the capacity of a nursing assistant, regardless of their nursing program clinical level. When the student has been cleared by the Supervisor, they may be moved to their appropriate skill level. Unit: Emergency Dept Employment Type: Per Diem (as needed) we work around clinicals and school schedules Shifts Available: Varies This position is open to RN students only
Requirements
- EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing program and 1st semester of Nursing School
- Must be in good and academic standing
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- RN program students only
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.but not required.
