About The Position
The Student Nurse Apprenticeship Program (SNAP) is an early workforce recruitment initiative offered by Sentara RMH Medical Center for senior nursing students completing their last two semesters of an accredited nursing program. SNAP provides aspiring nurses unique opportunities to work with a nurse mentor on a designated nursing department in addition to eight shadow experiences in departments of choice. The program includes a general nursing orientation, clinical skills days, weekly mentor and shadow experiences, and culminates in a graduation day.
Requirements
- Current Nursing student within 2 semesters of graduation
Responsibilities
- Work with a nurse mentor on a designated nursing department
- Participate in eight shadow experiences in departments of choice
- Complete 2 twelve-hour shifts with your mentor each week during your externship
- Complete 1 eight-hour shadow experience each week during your externship
