Student Nurse Extern
About The Position
The Student Extern serves as an adjunct to the patient care team, performing duties at a level commensurate with the clinical sections successfully completed and passed at a local college. Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the extern provides direct patient care in accordance with established protocols, with their scope of practice expanding as their skills develop. All newly hired externs will initially function in the capacity of a nursing assistant, regardless of their current nursing program clinical level. Once the student has been cleared by the Supervisor, they may be advanced to their appropriate skill level.
Requirements
- Successfully completed the first semester of a nursing program
- Must be in good and academic standing
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
Responsibilities
