Student Mascot Performer (Part-Time ) (Pool) - Mount Wachusett Community College

About the position

Join the spirit squad! We are building a pool of enthusiastic, reliable, and energetic students to serve as our official campus mascot performer. As the face (and personality) of MWCC's spirit, you'll represent Monty at campus events and community functions-bringing joy, school pride, and high-energy engagement everywhere you go. This is a flexible, part-time student position ideal for individuals with performance experience, a love for school spirit and a willingness to entertain while in costume.

Responsibilities

• Perform as the official mascot at events on and off MWCC campus(es) (Gardner, Leominster and remote locations as needed)
• Engage with students, staff, and the public in a friendly and professional manner
• Participate in orientation, open houses, graduations, and other special college functions
• Follow safety and costume care guidelines
• Work with event staff to coordinate appearances and timing
• Represent the college with enthusiasm, creativity, and inclusivity.

Requirements

• Must be a current student in good academic standing
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• High energy, reliable, and enthusiastic about school spirit
• Comfortable performing and entertaining in front of crowds
• Ability to work in costume, which may include heat, limited vision, and movement restrictions
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
• Commitment to exceptional personal hygiene.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in theater, dance, cheer, or mascot performance
• Height between 5'6" and 6'2" for costume fit (multiple students will be selected for size flexibility).
