About The Position

Are you interested in working in the transportation planning field? At Parsons we are a community of dedicated professionals with different points of view who enjoy designing and building stuff. We are looking for a planning intern to join our Ottawa team who is driven and has a desire for hands-on learning. Reporting to our local Transportation Planning and Mobility Lead, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of planning projects from around Eastern Canada. Typical projects include policy analysis, GIS mapping, Transportation Master Plans, Active Transportation Master Plans, Environmental Assessments, Corridor Studies, etc.

Requirements

• Full-time student registered in a planning or related discipline at a university
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
• Experience using GIS to create maps and graphics

Responsibilities

• Completing technical research
• Reviewing planning policies and other legislative documents
• Preparing technical memos and writing reports
• Attending client meetings and preparing meeting summaries
• Participating in consultation sessions and public meetings
• Other duties as assigned
