About The Position

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS NOW FOR 2026 SUMMER AND FALL INTERNSHIPS. Are you seeking an internship where you can truly thrive and make an impact? Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is looking for passionate, master’s‑level Student Interns in Mental Health Counseling or Psychology to join our Reset: Recovery Services team and support clients with substance use disorders (SUD) and co‑occurring mental health needs. As an intern, you may provide individual, family, or group therapy; engage in professional development; and collaborate closely with a diverse, supportive team committed to meeting clients where they are, thinking creatively, and offering culturally responsive care that fosters hope and healing. Our ideal candidate is energetic, community‑minded, and enthusiastic about working with individuals with dual diagnoses using innovative, adaptive therapeutic strategies—someone who believes recovery is collaborative and unique to every person. Preferred candidates will have completed a practicum and be eager to grow within a team that is driven, compassionate, and dedicated to empowering clients on their recovery journey. Schedule. Anytime during the hours of Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 6:30 pm, and flexible around the student's school schedule.

Requirements

  • Required Vaccination and TB Test. At AMHR the health and safety of our clients and staff are our top priorities. As part of this commitment, all employees are required to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and present a negative TB test result before their first day of work. Proof of both the flu shot and negative TB test must be provided on your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions can be requested if necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Level Student working towards a degree Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
  • Preferred completion of practicum clinical experience.
  • Our ideal candidate for this position would be energetic, passionate about working with individuals with dual diagnosis and open to using innovative and adaptive therapeutic strategies and interventions with clients and who believes recovery is a collaborative and individualized journey.
