  • Enthusiasm for coding and building automation processes.
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or MATLAB.
  • Experience performing statistical analysis on large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AI or statistical modeling for time series forecasting, ideally within energy sector applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop AI-based operational load forecast models to support system planning and operations.
  • Collaborate with forecasting staff to design software tools and automated processes.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines for load forecasting activities.
  • Conduct descriptive and predictive statistical analyses on large datasets.
  • Write new code and perform reviews/refactoring of existing code.
  • Perform research to gain domain knowledge on electricity demand forecasting and emerging energy sector trends.

Benefits

  • Gain hands-on experience in load forecasting for one of the most advanced regional power systems in the U.S.
  • Learn how forecasts intersect with climate policy, public policy, and the evolving energy mix.
  • Work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive team environment.
  • Build tools and models that directly inform how ISO New England plans and operates the future electric grid.
  • Develop technical skills and industry knowledge that support a meaningful and dynamic career in the energy sector.
