About The Position

ISO New England is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England’s ongoing transition to clean energy. As an intern in the Energy Resource Optimization position within the Advanced Technology Solutions department, you will model, analyze, and solve optimal resource planning problems to help the grid operate efficiently and reliably. This role offers hands-on experience with advanced analytical tools, allowing you to make data-driven decisions and see the direct impact of your work on the future of energy systems.

Requirements

• Minimum education level: PhD.
• Deep knowledge of stochastic optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in power systems and data analytics.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred majors: Operations Research, Power System Optimization.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a research project focused on solving large-scale resource optimization problems in practical power systems.
• Test method development approaches and evaluate their performance.
