About The Position

ISO New England is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England’s ongoing transition to clean energy. As a Dynamic Stability intern, you’ll help model and analyze generator performance, work with Python scripts, and use industry software to study how resources interact with the system. You’ll learn the process of interconnecting new generators and gain valuable skills in automation, stability analysis, and clean energy integration.

Requirements

  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of power system analysis and modeling.
  • Ability to learn new tools with some guidance.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to recommend solutions to assigned problems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the integration of new generating resources onto the grid.
  • Assist with generator stability modeling and dynamic data updates.
  • Perform power system analyses related to standards development and procedural compliance.
  • Use scripting and automation to improve efficiency in modeling and analysis.
